Case Study
INTO THE BLUE

One of the most enduring colour combinations for is blue and white.  We’ve seen blue make a strong comeback across a range of interior spaces we have in our homes, not least the kitchen area.

SIMPLICITY:

This bespoke in-frame cabinetry is given a smooth finish with a machine coating.  In stark contrast to the contemporary wash of white walls, soft flooring and a subtly textured white worktop it provides simplicity to draw attention to the furniture.

LINEAR ISLAND:

By using a block plinth and detailed end panels there is a continuous flow to the island.  The island itself houses the dishwasher, hob, extraction and sink.

WARMTH:

Black and white elements across the space are crisp and this shows how unexpectedly warming blue can be.  The walnut carcases which are revealed when the bi folding dresser is opened also add warmth and depth to this room.

MODERN TRADITION:

Using modern appliances for their function but keeping shaker style cabinetry gives this space a perfect blend of traditional and modern, sitting so fittingly with the building itself which has exterior sandstone and modern expansive glazing’s.

FAMILY:

Some internal walls were removed to create a communal space for the whole family.  Using colour visually separates the kitchen area from dining and living areas without having a solid divide.
